    Mulberry Yarn Bank, Sualkuchi

    The project was commenced on 21-09-2018

    Mulberry Yarn Bank Scheme is under two committees i.e.

    1. Governing Body
    2. Management Committee

    Weavers were selected from the 4 Nos. Gaon Panchayat i.e. Pub, Pachim, Madhya and Bangshor,  Sualkuchi.

    Selected Weaver  beneficiaries  are found to be  4833

    ARTFED procures Yarn at Mill Gate Price from M/S NHDC Ltd.

    ARTFED sells Yarn to selected weavers beneficiaries at 20% subsidized rate.

     Setting up of Cotton Yarn Bank Scheme: 

    Govt. of Assam accorded administrative approval a total cost of Rs.1215.00 lakh only for setting up of Yarn Bank for Handloom Weavers during 2013-14 in 27 Nos. Districts of Assam under Handloom and Textiles Deptt. ARTFED has undertaken the implementation of the Scheme as recommended by Govt. of Assam.
    In the 1st phase, as per budget provision of Directorate of Handloom and Textiles released an amount of Rs.469.00 lakh during 2013-14, for 11 Nos. of Yarn Bank at Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Barpeta, Goalpara, Nagaon, Jorhat Sibsagar, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji , Silchar, Kamrup . All 11 Nos. of Yarn Banks are smoothly functioning.

    In the 2nd phase an amount of Rs.400.00 lakh only released for setting up of 8 Nos. of Yarn Banks in the Districts of Golaghat, Morigaon, Darrang, Sonitpur, Nalbari, Dhubri, Bongaigaon, Karimganj.

    An amount of Rs.346.00 yet to release from Deptt. for balance of 8 Nos. of Yarn Bank.

    All the targeted weavers in the concerned district are procuring Yarn at Mill Gate Price with 20% subsidy in all variety.

     Hahim  Cluster Development  Project: 

    Hahim  Cluster Development Project  at Hahim   in Kamrup District  under North Eastern Council, Ministry of North Eastern, New Delhi

    Total beneficiaries – 420 Nos.
    Total Project cost – Rs.497.73 lakh

    Grant from NEC – Rs. 447.97 lakh

    IA/State Share – Rs. 49.76 lakh
    Project period – 2 years
    Skill Upgradation Training Programme. has changed the weavers towards commercialization in nature.

     Kamalpurl Cluster Developmnt Programme: 

    Kamalpurl Cluster Project in Kamrup District  under NHDP, Ministry of Textiles, Office of the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Govt. of India.
    Total beneficiaries – 400 Nos.
    Project cost – Rs.84.565 lakh
    Project period – 3 years
    Construction of individual work shed, HSS items under individual intervention has changed the weavers towards commercialization in nature.

              Apparel & Garment Making Centre: 

    “Apparel and Garment Making Centre was setup at Pachim Boragaon,  Guwahati under NERTPS , Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. The site is 1.0 k.m. away from N.H and 15 k.m. from LGBI Airport, Guwahati. ARTFED is Implementing Agency (PIA) of the aforesaid incubation centre which is consisting of  3 Units having 15000 sq.ft area for each. The cost against the infrastructural facility , 300 Swing machines , equipments and furniture-fixtures is Rs.1426.15 lakh. The constructional activities and supply of machines, furniture etc. were carried out by M/S NBCC Ltd.

    Regional Handloom & Handicraft Marketing Complex:   Regional Handloom and Handicraft Marketing Complex at A.K. Azad Road, Rehabari, Ghy-8 which is funded by N.E.C., Shillong is a comprehensive Six storied building as showcase to boost up sales of Handloom and Handicraft products of North Eastern Region.
